Can we start with a movement to replace Dick Durban, the stick in the mud from Illinois who is blocking impeachment action?

Let’s analyze the situation and make a strategy, even if that is not it.

Increase the number of justices to match the number of courts (13) and add senior status at 18 years on the bench. That eliminates Thomas, Alito, and Roberts. You could have the ability to add 7 new justices. It could be 10-3 if you want it. Gotta get rid of the filibuster and have a trifecta. But at least put the hammer out there.

Yes! Expand the court to 13 tying it to match the number of districts. That expand it in a way that prevents it from becoming a seesaw: we expand it to 13, the next Republican president expands it to 17, the next Democrat after that…

"The statements reveal a very clear dividing line within the Democratic Party that has been clear for some time now. Is it better to urge the public to deliver Democrats veto-proof majorities and the presidency with the promise of great changes on that day, or is it better to fight for things that – in the short term at least – seem doomed to failure?"

¿Por que no los dos?

Seriously the two approaches are not mutually incompatible; the GOP has been doing this for decades.

In fact they got so good at it, they realized THET DON’T EVEN NEED A PLATFORM… and that frees up a LOT of time & energy! Which brings me to this question: why isn’t DJT ever asked ‘where’ his healthcare plan is? WHY IS HE GIVEN A PASS ON THIS? Wasn’t that the initial thing that set him apart on that infamously crowded 2016 R Primary stage? Well…? I feel bad that his followers have let him move on ;/ I’m sure some of them need it 🫤

987 'Infrastructure Week's later...OHJB actually did something. the staggering disparity between the way fat nixon is treated versus any Democrat ever is dumbfounding.

All anyone can talk about is how Biden didn't have a good debate, but NO GODDAMNED SINGLE MASS MEDIA PERSON is saying a thing about the absolute cataract of bullshit spewing from mango mussolini's mouth.

Thanks for writing this.

I would also add that many veteran D’s were ‘rolled by Reagan’ and have taken a defensive posture ever since… That might be the TRUE reason for term limits. Old wounds/habits die hard. AOC, Shapiro, Whitmer, O’Rourke and Newsom aren’t carrying that baggage it seems… Pritzker too? While it’s taken far too long to pass the baton, maybe we needed the right moment, too.

We can’t deny the strategies and legalized corruption we’ve seen grow over the last 8 years. Let’s goooooo

“So make them do just that. Make them go on the record, again and again and again and again and again and again.”

Indeed. And this is where the Democratic leadership also falls down every time. Their consistent attitude has been “They’ll just vote against it. It won’t pass. So why actually bring it up for a vote?”

And the answer is “BECAUSE they will vote against it.”

They will vote against it. That will be on the record. And then you get to hold that against them in campaigns and get them replaced.

It’s called playing the long game, and Democrats suck at it. It’s taking a loss now because it sets you up for a greater win in the future. Yes, the bill got voted down today, but that will lead to us winning the next election and getting the majority we need to pass the bill the next time.

Yesterday's decision made me feel the same way I felt watching the January 6th footage.

The time to DO SOMETHING was winter 2020 when Democrats controlled Congress and had the opportunity to eliminate the filibuster and add additional justices to the Supreme Court. There is no time to do anything before November. No matter what happens, the maggots will riot.

What Schumer, Jeffries and the others seem to be saying is “don’t blame us, you didn’t give us a big enough majority, now go vote and don’t fail us again.”
